My Lexicon

This page lists down some Korean words that I’ve learned from various sources (books, sites, blogs, songs, podcasts, etc). I wanted to make this organized so I made it in such a way that it lists down the words just like in the dictionary. Most of the words that I’ve included here are the ones which I already know. If there are some wrong information, feel free to leave a comment and correct me. It’s my only way to know if I’m learning the right way.

    is there a specific pattern
on how you distinguish prounouncing ㅂ between b and p?
i have the same confusion with ㄱ (g or k?)
    please help!

    • owbEe / Mar 25 2012 8:55 pm

I’m not an expert so this may be partially wrong or right. I’ve have this book “Elementary Korean” and it has this chart where it places the sound values of each consonant.

For the letter , it can sound as p at the start of a word. For example, room. But it can also sound as b when placed in the middle, for example 가 bag. Both of them has in them but the sound before it makes all the difference.

      Hope that helped. :D
